Why PHOLAS
Delivery, returns, answers
Beat the Mzansi Heat
R 899.99R 499.99, delivered anywhere in South Africa.
The LED behind the black lens shows the exact power level, 1 to 100. Not three fixed settings — dial it to 20 for a lecture, 100 when you've just walked from the taxi rank.
The brushless motor draws air through the rose-gold intake fins and pushes it down a narrow barrel, so the stream stays tight enough to cool your face and neck rather than spreading out across the room.
Why brushless matters
Stronger airflow for the same battery, less noise, and no brushes to wear out.
The cell sits in the grip, which keeps the weight in your palm instead of your wrist. USB-C port at the base, two buttons under the ring for power and level.
Battery
24 to 48 hours on a full charge, depending on the power level you run it at. Charge it with any USB-C cable.
Cools you, not the room
Air lands where you point it instead of drifting.
Works when the power doesn't
It runs off its own battery. Charge it while you have power, use it when you don't.
Power from 1 to 100
Exact control, not three fixed speeds.
Looks like something you'd buy
Cream body, rose-gold ring, weight balanced in the grip.
Fits where you already carry things
Handbag, backpack, cubbyhole, gym bag.
The 3D model on the page is our illustration. These are the actual fan, nothing cropped.

PHOLAS started in 2026. We would rather show you an empty space than invent someone to fill it. If you have bought a fan, tell us honestly how it went and we will publish it, good or bad.
How reviews work here
- We publish all of them, good and bad, unedited apart from abuse.
- If we gave someone a fan, the review says so.
- No bought reviews, ever.
- Courier: Aramex, nationwide to all nine provinces
- Standard delivery: 3 to 5 business days once collected
- We pack and hand over within 1 to 2 days
- Standard delivery is R99. Free delivery on orders over R500

How long does delivery take?
We pack and hand your parcel to Aramex within 1 to 2 days. Standard delivery is then 3 to 5 business days nationwide.
What does delivery cost?
Standard delivery is R99. Free delivery on orders over R500, so most packs ship free. Your exact cost is shown at checkout before you pay.
How do I charge it?
With a USB-C cable, the same one most Android phones use.
How long does the battery last?
24 to 48 hours on a full charge, depending on the power level you run it at. Charge it with any USB-C cable.
Is it loud?
At the low end it's quiet enough for a desk or a lecture. Push it towards 100 and it gets stronger and louder, the way any fan does when it moves more air.
Is PHOLAS actually South African?
Yes, run from Johannesburg, and every order ships locally. The fan itself is manufactured abroad, which is true of nearly all consumer electronics sold here.
What if it stops working?
Email us within 48 hours if it arrives faulty. Beyond that the Consumer Protection Act gives you six months to return a defective fan for repair, replacement or refund.
Is my payment secure?
Checkout runs on an encrypted page. Your card details go straight to our payment provider, never to us, and we do not store them at any point.
